Pterosaur

So, a Pterosaur isn’t necessarily a Pterodactyl… but a Pterodactyl is definitely a Pterosaur. This large class of flying reptiles pretty much all look similar to the Pterodactyl. They had large wings covered in a skin-like membrane, and many of them had claws with 4 digits half way along the span of the wing. These ‘hands’ gave Pterosaur advantages over other flying creatures both in the air and on the ground. Pterosaur was also a carnivore, which meant that the advantage of flight was also useful for hunting grounded prey.

About This Fossil:

Looking at Pterosaur, you might wonder if he was going to eat you or tip over from his enormous head. There’s actually some conjecture about whether or nor these winged animals could even fly because of the enormity of their heads. Regardless, you’d forget about all of that if one of one got ahold of you. Their spear-like teeth came with the ultimate penetrating power.
